Moo Chili Llamas in driver’s seat against Mazaratis

Snoqualmie’s own Moo Chili Llamas (Boys U-11) out-drove

the Mazaratis 2 to 1 in their first American Cup game. The Mazaratis

of Issaquah took the early lead with a quick goal against the Llamas.

Early in the second half, Marshall Lloyd sparked the comeback with a

nutmeg-spin move to beat the last defender and score the Moo’s first goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Donnell kept the Mazaratis scoreless throughout

the second half. Donnell stopped a lot of big shots from the Issaquah team.

The winning goal came off the foot of Jeff Chapman with about 15

minutes left in the game. Chapman drove on the Mazaratis from the right

wing and scored with a blast into the top of the net for the game winner. The

battle in the midfield trenches was nerve-wracking for the parents, but the

Moo Chili’s held on with great defense on the part of Taylor Wise,

Marcus Holstine, Nick Poskitt, and Jordan Kowalsky.

“I was so nervous I had to go sit in the car,” said team mom,

Kathy Chapman.

Next week the Moo Chili Llamas take on the Blue Tornados of Bellevue.
