Wildcats split

Mount Si had a rather busy week, playing two matches in two

nights while preparing for their Monday evening contest with rival Cedarcrest.

On Wednesday, Oct. 20, the court `Cats came out on the short end of

a series with Interlake, losing to the Saints 8-15, 7-15, 15-6 and

9-15. Stephanie Sales recorded 3 kills, 1 block and 2 digs; Genevieve Weber,

3 kills, 4 aces, 9 digs; Kristen Everett, 2 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks, 5 digs and

24 assists; Heather Lewis, 12 kills, 10 digs; Kristen Roberts, 2 aces, 3

digs; Betsey Bankson, 5 kills, 2 aces, 10 digs; and Tiffany Durman scored 1

kill and 3 digs.

The following evening the Wildcats took Bellevue, downing the

Wolverines in four games by scores of 11-15, 15-4, 15-10 and 15-9. The

individual stats were Sales, 11 kills, 2 aces, 4 digs and 1 block; Weber, 4 kills,

3 aces, 9 digs; Harstad, 11 digs; Everett, 4 aces, 6 digs, 27 assists; Lewis,

11 kills, 3 aces, 20 digs; and Bankson, 17 kills, 7 aces and 6 digs.

Wolves thump Patriots

Cedarcrest’s volleyball team hosted their counterparts from

Liberty Wednesday night, prevailing by scores of 15-10, 15-3 and 15-12.

Individual totals included Katie Power, 11 kills, 14 digs and 1 ace; Julie Henry, 1

kill, 10 assists, 7 digs, 3 aces; Erin Townsend, 14 kills, 2 digs, 2

blocks, 1 ace; Lauren Peterson, 3 kills, 7 digs; and Adrea Wickstrom, 2 kills, 11

assists, 5 digs and 2 aces.

The victory put the Red Wolves at xx-xx and set them _ so to speak _

for Monday’s regular season-ending contest with upper Valley rivals Mount Si.

The two Valley powers squared off at Cedarcrest Monday night, Oct.

25, to determine who would finish the season in second place in the Valley

Division. Details on the match and subsequent league championship series

_ scheduled for Liberty High School in Renton on Oct. 27 and 28 _ will

appear in next week’s edition.
