The Valley Hawks soccer team took the top seat in the 1998-1999

season of the Masters IV Soccer Division F. They controlled this division of

the Washington State Women’s Soccer Association (WSWSA) with a six

win and one loss season which brought them a total of twelve points in

the 1999 WSWSA spring standings.

The team, which competes in the over-30 age category, originated

out of Fall City five years ago with a core group of Fall City players. The

team now has players from Fall City, North Bend, Snoqualmie,

Carnation, Issaquah, Redmond, Woodinville, Bellevue and Kent. Many of its

players also participate in the City of Seattle Co-Recreational League,

the Lake Washington Co-Recreational League, and the WSWSA

over-40 Women’s Classic Division.

The team has also had strong seasons with the Renton Athletic

Club Indoor Soccer Association. Some of the players are also coaches of

recreational youth teams and several are state-licensed referees.

Traveling to games throughout King and Pierce counties and as

far away as Bainbridge Island, the team is currently in its 1999 fall

season league and will continue throughout the year, taking only a two-week

hiatus between each of the four seasons.

Coached by Snoqualmie Valley select coaches Kirk Smith and

Phil Vanderbrake, the team presently has a one point lead and is looking

forward to another winning season with the Washington State Women’s

Soccer Association.
