Mount Si Lacrosse Club invites players and coaches to suit up for its second season.

The non-profit is taking sign-ups for its spring session. The club includes boys teams competing in high school, as well as several levels: Seniors (grades 7 and 8), Juniors (grades 5 and 6), Lightning (grades 2 to 4) and a Lightning Clinic-Only program (grades 1 to 4). The club will also offer a girls program this season for grades 3 and 6, and will partner with Issaquah Youth Lacross to offer girls lacrosse at all levels.

The club is also actively seeking players, coaches, managers, and community members to participate. No experience is necessary.

Last season, the Mount Si Boys High School Lacrosse Team was founded and played in the Evergreen Conference of High School Boys Division 2, which also includes Redmond, Sammamish, Liberty, and Highline.

Known as the “Fastest Game on Two Feet,” Lacrosse has a rich Native American history and is the fastest growing sport in the United States. Lacrosse is played with 10 players: one goalie, three defensemen, three midfielders, and three attackmen (offense). Players use a long-handled lacrosse stick to score on a six-by-six-foot goal with a baseball-sized, solid rubber ball. Players wear helmets, gloves, light shoulder pads, and arm guards. Lacrosse is a high-scoring, fast-paced contact sport that has similarities to hockey, soccer, basketball, football and other team sports.
