    Opportunity is teed up for individuals with a disability who have wanted to play golf but felt they were unable.

    Their opportunity is the fourth annual Boeing Classic Adaptive Golf Clinic from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. Registration is free and the deadline is Friday, Aug. 9.

    Zach Brevick, a 2010 graduate of Mount Si High School, was awarded a full scholarship from WSU in football.

    Zach has been a walk on since his freshman season.

    Zach is listed at six-foot-five, 275 pounds. He is currently number two on the depth chart at offensive Center.

    Dan Raley didn’t set out to be a journalist. When everyone else in his family was getting a business or science degree, Raley always wanted to do something different. When his best friend signed up to take journalism classes in school, Raley did it, too.

    After graduating from Western Washington University and reporting for a stint in Alaska, Raley worked as a sports and crime reporter at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for 30 years. Today Raley works for MSN.com and writes books about Seattle’s history. He and his family live in North Bend.

    Chaplins North Bend Chevrolet hopes to help Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association score.

    In the spirit of teamwork taught by youth sports, Chaplins is teaming up with Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association to provide their players and coaches a fundraising opportunity and equipment this fall.

    The Chevy Youth Soccer program is similar to the youth baseball program, but helps area leagues.

    More than 700 local youth play ball through Falls Little League, which uses support from donators like Chaplins to fund ongoing ballfield improvements throughout the Valley.This year, the league put $40,000 into work at its eight playfields in Fall City and Snoqualmie. It’s the league’e biggest investment in ballfields ever, says Terri Campbell, Falls Little League Treasurer.

    The Eastside FC Girls 95 White Soccer Team won the Presidents Cup Regional Title in Boise last month and are headed to the Presidents Cup Nationals in Florida in July.

    The Eastside FC Premier team is composed of five players from Skyline High School, three players from Issaquah High School, two from Bellevue High School, two players from Mount Si High School—Kelsey Lindor and Sophia Rouches—and others from Eastside Catholic, Mercer Island, Newport, Liberty, International, Overlake and Tahoma High School.

    The team is coached by Ryan Dortch and his brother, assistant coach Andrew Dortch, both of whom grew up playing soccer in Issaquah.

    Dominic Faccone and Campbell Click, two Fall City Elementary School fifth grade students playing for Eastside FC boys U-11 soccer team, helped their squad take the summers first big soccer tournament.

    The boys won the championship cup at the 21st Puyallup Rainier Challenge Cup on Sunday, June 16. Faccone plays center midfielder and Click is the goalie.

    Children and adults can pass, shoot and jam at the Just Moo it 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, which returns Thursday, July 4, following the grand parade, on Bird Street.

    Divisions include adult men, co-ed, women 15 years and older; and youth (boys and girls) grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Teams will also have the choice to play competitively or recreationally.
