Former Mount Si Football players are coming back to the Valley to put on a scholarship fund raiser to help a local student go to college.

Taylor Mitchell, a 2011 graduate of Mount Si High School and the oldest of four brothers who all played football for Mount Si, said he wanted to find a way to give back to the community and help ease the financial burden of a senior looking to play college sports.

Along with his brothers Josh, Nick and Caleb, Taylor is organizing a one-day football camp for children from kindergarten to eighth grade on Friday, June 24. All the money raised will go toward a scholarship for a student athlete who will be playing their sport in college.

“I understand the financial hardships and difficulties that student athletes can face. This is going to help a Mount Si graduate go on to play sports. It will make a huge difference,” he said.

According to Taylor, 15 to 20 people have already registered and they are hoping for the final total to be around 75.
