Eagles announce girls’ basketball awards
Snoqualmie Middle School recently announced its varsity
and junior varsity awards for girls’ basketball. The eighth-grade
varsity awards for girls’ basketball went to Kelsey Myers for Most
Improved, Rachel Travis for Most Valuable and Whitney
Beyerlin for Defensive Player of the Year. Amy Trenkamp received
the Coaches Award.
The seventh-grade varsity awards were well-deserved
by Kali Walker for Most Inspirational, Collette Hatch for
Most Improved, and Robyn Pearson for Defensive Player of the Year.
Sarah Travis and Jessica Marley both earned the award for
Most Valuable Player this year.
The eighth-grade junior-varsity awards were awarded
to Samantha Baldwin for Most Inspirational, Heather
Waggoner and Marissa Stewart for Most Improved and Meaghan Dunklee
for Most Valuable Player.
Junior-varsity awards for seventh-grade girls’ basketball
went to Allyson Rosman for Most Inspirational, Erin Dunklee for
Most Improved and Jenny Daley for Most Valuable Player.
The Coaches Award was given to Shayla Hilsmann.
Eagle wrestlers honored for efforts
Wrestlers at Snoqualmie Middle School pinned down
their fair share of awards, too. For the varsity team, Mike
Montgomery earned Most Valuable Wrestler, while Matt Haas took home
Most Inspirational. Cameron Rogers and Robert Dickson both
picked up the award for Most Improved Wrestler of the season. Four
members of the varsity team picked up Coaches Awards: Mike
Montgomery, Alex Haas, Trevor Louviere, and Trevor Moore.
All are eighth-graders.
Sixth-graders receiving awards for wrestling include
Nick Gee for Most Valuable Wrestler, Brian Johnson for Most
Inspirational and Bruce Louviere for Most Improved.
Snoqualmie Valley Wildcats in First Place
The seventh-grade Snoqualmie Valley Cascade
basketball team finished its regular season with a record of 13-1.
The Wildcats exploded off the boards throughout the
season, averaging 60 points per game while holding their opponents
to only 34 points per game. This dominant team is headed
by coach Brad Knowles with Dennis Fenton assisting. The team
travels to Enumclaw High School for its first round of playoffs Feb.
4 and 11.
