Chief Kanim defeats SMS

The Chief Kanim Middle School’s seventh-grade football team

defeated a scrappy Snoqualmie Middle School Eagle Team 20-6 in the annual

seventh-grade Battle of the Birds.

The Hawks used an aggressive defense and an effective running

game to pull out the win. Stu Trombley got the Hawks on the board early with

a 15-yard touchdown scamper and then kicked the extra point to make

the score 8-0. Corey Lindberg sparked the Hawks just before halftime with a

78-yard reverse touchdown scamper to make the score 14-0 at half.

Erik Alexander finished off the Hawk scoring with a 9-yard

touchdown run. Cody Hyatt scampered 60 yards for an Eagle touchdown in

the final seconds of the game. Coaches Blake and Boyer are both

extremely proud of the Hawk effort. The Hawk line, led by Erik Forslin, and the

Hawk defense, led by Brandon Reaves, Dane Portscheller and Tylor Littlejohn,

were fantastic. The Hawks finished the season with a 6-0 record.
