Volunteers make Alpine Days a hit

Letter to the Editor.

Once again, I am amazed that we were able to pull it off. I would

dearly like to thank the committee members who gave so much of their time to

put on this huge event:

Cindy Wall, for doing all of the publicity,

Frank Smith and Sue Beauvais, for the first-class music lineup, and

Sue’s additional support as committee secretary,

Tim Smith, for his support, barricades and for doing the posters and

flyers,

Gail Lawrence, for her can-do attitude and being the hospitality chair,

Becky Kitz, for her support as treasurer,

Donna Hart, for the very hard task of recruiting vendors,

Dave Moyes, for creating a grand parade,

Chuck and Dixi Smith, for all of their hard work collecting litter

and manning the rest rooms,

Craig Watchie, for the great opening ceremonies and teen dance,

manning the lights and electrical and for being the all-around fix-it and

handyman, and Sharon and George Wyrsch, who not only treated us to an

amazing fireworks show and built a wonderful float, but who also lent moral

support to our committee throughout the year.

Many more people and organizations went out of their way to help

us put on this event. I would like to recognize the committee members

who came to meetings, gave their time and lived and breathed Alpine Days for

the last 12 months. If these people had not given so much, we would not have

had such a successful festival.

We will be getting ready for Alpine Days’ 31st year in the weeks

to come. If you enjoyed the event and would like to be part of next

year’s festival, please join our team. We would like to invite everyone to

our wrap-up meeting on the 28th of August. We will be discussing ways

to improve the festival and making plans for the next year.
