As I make the transition from the state House of Representatives to the state Senate, I would like to thank everyone in the local community for the continued overwhelming level of support they’ve shown me during my six years in the Legislature. I look forward to continuing my efforts in Olympia to make sure our local voice is always heard and considered when issues like job creation, education and transportation are discussed.

Health care continues to be a top priority for me. I will focus this year on long-term care issues affecting our elderly and disabled citizens, improving access to insurance for employees of small business and addressing the explosive increase in malpractice premiums that is driving doctors out of Washington.

Our communities in East King County remain some of the most beautiful and vibrant in the state of Washington. I feel blessed to be the new voice for all of you in the state Senate, and urge you to contact my office in Olympia if you ever have comments or questions about the Legislature.
