Tell us what you think

Record Editorial

Our redesign is out and it’s time for some feedback. We are committed to continuing to provide news, sports and community information that you can’t get anywhere else.

The difference is we have packaged it a little differently.

The redesign is something we have been working on for several months and are now proud to unveil.

As you can tell, we now have added an arts page called “Valley Scene.” We will highlight fun things to do around the Valley. In addition, we have a horoscope and a couple of brain teasers: a crossword puzzle and sudoku, which my family is hooked on.

We have changed our calendar. One thing we heard over and over was a desire to see what people could do on the weekends. Thus we have created a calendar fittingly called “Weekend.” We will no longer be listing standing meetings, but will list things to do and see. As before, if you have something fun for people to do, let us know.

The opinion page now has some trivia from history, as well as strange but true facts. It also allows more opportunities for Valley residents to have their say through a weekly “person on the street” question-and-answer format.

We will be running a schools page each week. After all, schools are something that affect all of us in some form or another, whether it be our children attending or our tax dollars at work.

We have changed the sports pages slightly, as well. We have a new weekly schedule that will highlight Mount Si sports activities. We also have a sports trivia quiz to see how well you remember the facts and figures from the sporting past.

We also plan on running a business page every other week to let you know what is happening in the local business community.

But the most important thing is making sure we provide what you want to read. Please, if you have any suggestions or comments, let us know. My e-mail address is jim.mckiernan@valleyrecord.com or I can be reached by calling (425) 888-2311.
