Local hospital is doing a great job

Letter to the Editor

Earlier this month, I was a patient in acute medical care for a respiratory problem. I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to be at our local hospital and only a mile from home. My friends and church people couldn’t find me because they thought “local” meant Bellevue or Kirkland.

Snoqualmie Valley Hospital is alive and well and I had excellent care. The medical services of Dr. Karen Tom in emergency and Dr. Kimberly Witkop, medical director, were great, and with nurse Sherri Culver, my stay was pleasant – considering the difficulties.

Please keep in mind that our local hospital is open, including 24-hour emergency service, and it’s doing a great job. I understand that out-patient surgery will begin in a month.

Thanks so much to all of you for your constant help and assurance.
