Charlie Kinnune does it again!

Letter to the Editor.

The Sno-Valley Junior Football Association (SVJFA) utilizes

parents to donate their time to help coach little league football. As with any

little league sport in the Valley, how do you know your child will get the best

experience out of the program from a parent-coach? Very few

organizations offer formal training for new

parents wanting to coach and experienced coaches looking to update their skills.

Charlie Kinnune, Mount Si High’s football coach, understands that

shortcoming and stepped forward to host a football clinic for SVJFA coaches.

The clinic was nothing less than outstanding. It included a presentation

from Ms. Karen Rockaw, special education teacher, on motivation and

techniques for generating a positive experience for reluctant players. Classroom

discussion included everything from organizing playbooks to successful

play formations. The clinic also included a demonstration of drills by some of

last year’s Mount Si players led by Mount Si’s assistant coaches, Eric Riley

and Wayne Lewis.

Safari’s Pizza has always been a strong supporter of the Valley’s

sports programs and came through again with pizza for the participants.

A lot of work went into hosting this clinic. The information provided

will directly help the quality of little league football coaching which will have

a positive effect on the players and their experience in youth football.

Charlie has stepped forward to help little league football on many

occasions, and this one deserves special recognition.

Thank you Charlie, staff, and Mount Si players for a fantastic clinic.
