Carwash helps pay for Stanford program

Letter to the Editor.

My name is Theresa Mueller and I am a junior at Mount Si High. I

have recently been accepted into the Junior Statesmen Summer School at

Stanford University. The program is a month-long program in which I will have

the opportunity to attend two college-level courses and speak with

California’s political leaders.

Only 290 outstanding high school students are accepted into the

program each year. The program is in July and is going to cost $2,850 to attend.

The fee includes tuition, books, room and board, but not travel expenses.

I would like to thank the people that have already donated to my

cause: Jim and Linda Dowden, Zack and Ellen Kaspi, O.W. Hollowell,

Bill Fratzke, Dave Bricklin, David Williams, Diane Vanderbeek,

Sheri Ferguson, Snoqualmie Valley Community Network, Lauren

Studebaker, Raymond Garrett, Friends of Youth, T.A.F.T. council, Sno-Valley

Senior Center, Louise Miller, and Sno-Valley Lions Club.

As of right now, I need to earn $640 more. I will be holding a

car- wash on May 21 at the Bank of America in Carnation to help offset

the cost for me and my friend Samantha George, who has also been

accepted into the program. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Theresa Mueller
