Ridge residents share 400 pounds of food

Letter to the Editor.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to many Snoqualmie residents.

After years of hearing reminders about how food banks often lack

supplies in the off-holiday seasons, we decided to use some of our time

to draw upon people’s natural generous tendencies and facilitate a food drive.

On Saturday, April 22, Snoqualmie Ridge residents left

over 400 pounds of food to benefit area residents in need. On behalf of

the Mount Si Helping Hands Food Bank, located in North Bend and serving

the Valley, we’d like to extend a wholehearted thank you to the people

of Snoqualmie Ridge for their significant contributions. The donations

included a wide variety of canned and boxed goods, including many baby

food items.

We feel privileged to have witnessed the generosity of

many Snoqualmie Ridge residents. It seems that there’s always an organization

in need of some kind of help, so we especially appreciate the

contributions that people were able to make for

this springtime effort. Also a special thank you to Candi Pike of Creative

Solutions for help with the food drive coordination, and to Carol and

Gene Stevens of Fall City Family Market, for donating bags for collecting

the food.

Once again, thank you to all of those who left a bag of food for

the cause.
