The eighth annual Wondering About Wildlife family event is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.

The day focuses on the winter wildlife of the watershed. Center naturalists offer special all-age programs, guided walks, hands-on activities and refreshments.

The free day provides a nature-oriented family outing during school winter break. Parents must accompany their children.

City seeking Snoqualmie pics

The city of Snoqualmie is looking for local photographers with a keen eye and artistic expression to share their images in its publications.

Residents who would like to have their photographs used in city communications materials, such as newsletters, brochures, and the city Web site, may send them to SnoqualmieCityHall@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us.

Photo subjects should be located within Snoqualmie or nearby areas. Images could be local attractions and scenery, wildlife, rural landscapes, neighborhood scenes, historical landmarks, cultural activities, art and installations, special events and festivities, live entertainment with permission of performers, sports and recreation, organizational and charitable activities, and conceptualized photography that would be relevant to Snoqualmie.

Images will be used at no cost to the city of Snoqualmie; however, bylines will be included. Photographs must be high resolution with a minimum 300 dpi image supplied as either a jpg or preferably a tif image. A photo permission form will be requested of the photographer.
