Snow coats Snoqualmie Pass; drivers must use chains

More than 18 inches of new snow fell on Snoqualmie Pass over the weekend, leading to requirements for drivers to use tire chains and traction tires.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reports record snowfall in November with 34 inches so far as of Monday (Nov. 7). Click here to see the snowfall report.

WSDOT also reports that crews are working around the clock to plow the snow.

Drivers who don’t use chains on their tires can face a $500 fine, according to WSDOT.
