Private gathering to remember Ruth Posey, 81, of North Bend

Miriam “Ruth” Posey of North Bend, wife to James, died Wednesday, April 2. She was 81. Ruth was born May 22, 1932 in Seattle to Joshua and Margaret Bissell. She was raised in the Snoqualmie Valley and graduated from Mt Si High School. She worked at Doctors Hospital in Seattle, the North Bend Theater, Gateway Cafe and the North Bend IGA grocery store.

Ruth was born May 22, 1932 in Seattle to Joshua and Margaret Bissell. She was raised in the Snoqualmie Valley and graduated from Mt Si High School.

She worked at Doctors Hospital in Seattle, the North Bend Theater, Gateway Cafe and the North Bend IGA grocery store.

In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling and belonged to a bowling league. She also enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, camping, playing cards and visits with her grandchildren.

She married Jim Posey on February 20, 1951 at the North Bend Community Church and honeymooned along the Oregon coast.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Mary Vinson, John Bissell, Joseph Bissell, Sam Bissell and her son Michael Posey.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years Jim Posey, brother David Bissell (Claira)  Oregon, sons Ed Posey of North Bend and Steve Posey of Cle Elum. Grandchildren Stacey, Jenifer, Shannon and Michael. Great grandchildren Ava and Jared.

Ruth will be interned at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent WA.

At her request, a private family gathering will be held.
