North Bend’s funny-money passers lying low

Two men believed to be using counterfeit $100 bills in North Bend in early June have not yet been caught by police, but they have stopped passing fake bills. North Bend Police Chief Mark Toner reports that he has not seen any more counterfeit bills since the six that were discovered June 7 and 9 by various businesses. The Snoqualmie Police Department has seen no counterfeit $100 bills this month, either.

Two men believed to be using counterfeit $100 bills in North Bend in early June have not yet been caught by police, but they have stopped passing fake bills.

North Bend Police Chief Mark Toner reports that he has not seen any more counterfeit bills since the six that were discovered June 7 and 9 by various businesses. The Snoqualmie Police Department has seen no counterfeit $100 bills this month, either.

The North Bend station of the King County Sheriff’s Office has received several tips about the possible identity of the two counterfeiters, Toner said. Images from in-store security cameras have been published widely, and have been the source of most tips.
