Mount Si star-gazing party is Friday

Mount Si High School’s third annual star watching party is Friday at Snoqualmie Point Park. Trained astronomers from the Boeing Employees Astronomical Society and the Tacoma Astronomical Society will point out celestial objects and answer your astronomy questions.

The activity, sponsored by the Mount Si astronomy classes led by Kevin Knowles, begins at 8 p.m. and runs to about midnight.  Thanks to the Snoqualmie Valley Foundation and the Mount Si science department, the astronomy students now have a hands-on 11-inch Celestron Digital Cassegrain telescope to use in learning how to orient to and navigate the night sky.

Snoqualmie Point Park is just off Exit 27. Park along the entrance circle because the standard gates to the park will be closed.

For more information, call Kevin Knowles at (425) 831-8124.
