Snoqualmie’s Northwest Railway Museum put up a $200 reward for a brass scale model of a steam locomotive that disappeared from the new diorama at the downtown depot.

Museum staff noticed the disappearance last Friday, April 18.

The model, a two truck Type B Shay engine, manufactured by Pacific Fast Mail, had been lent to the museum by one of its supporters for the display, which was installed April 3.

“The model has personal value to the owner that far exceeds its monetary value,” said museum employee Sue Van Gerpen. “It has characteristics that make it easily identifiable, and we have notified pawn and hobby shops in the area to keep an eye open for it.”

Snoqualmie police are investigating the theft. The $200 reward is offered for information that leads to the return of the model. Anyone with information about the model is requested to contact the Snoqualmie Police Department at (425) 888-3333.
