Valley residents can now explore volunteer opportunities with the Medical Reserve Corps.

Prospective volunteers can include racticing, retired or otherwise employed medical professionals, such as doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, pharmacists, nurses’ assistants and others. Tribal and community members and employees without medical training can assist with administrative and other essential support functions.

United States citizenship is not required to be part of the MRC. Non-citizen, legal U.S. residents also are welcome to volunteer and contribute their time, knowledge and skills to protecting and improving their communities.

Encompass offers LEGO day

Calling all first- and second-graders: You can build a town, city or star base with houses, buildings, pyramids, bridges, tunnels and towers, cars, trains, buses and trucks.

These are among the endless possibilities youngsters can explore with the LEGO building system at The Ultimate LEGO Experience, a five-hour hands-on workshop, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, presented by Encompass and taught by Play-Well TEKnologies.
