Registration on for senior exercise

The Mount Si Senor Center, in association with the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, has offered SAIL, or Stay Active and Independent for Life, exercise classes for older adults three times weekly since June of 2007. Registration is now open for the 2009 SAIL season.

“SAIL is a simple, common sense strength, balance and flexibility exercise program proven to improve fitness and help older adults avoid fall-related injuries,” said Nancy Rickerson, Director of Rehabilitation Services for Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.

Participants in the program have said that some exercise programs have ended up giving them an injury, but the SAIL class was the first one where that hasn’t happened.

For more information including class dates, times, costs and registration, call Mount Si Senior Center at (425) 888-3434. For information about falls prevention, beginning your own older adult fitness class or SAIL instructor training, contact the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Rehab Department at (425) 831-2300 or e-mail to sail@snoqualmiehospital.org.
