Hiking death in Twin Falls State Park

On Sunday Sept. 27 a 58-year-old man died from a fall while hiking with his dog in Twin Falls State Park.

On Sunday Sept. 27 a 58-year-old man died from a fall while hiking with his dog in Twin Falls State Park.

According to witnesses, the victim was seen hiking with his dog past a “trail closed” sign. Sometime later the witnesses heard the dog yelp and found the dog on a cliff but could not find the hiker.

The man was found by Eastside Fire and Rescue 100 feet down the mountain. When the rescue team got to him they found he had died from the fall. The dog suffered no injuries and was rescued.

The man’s identity is being withheld during identification of notification of the family.
