Hikers found the remains of a 54-year-old transient man, formerly of North Bend, on Sunday, May 4, in an overgrown transient camp near Southeast 69th Street in Snoqualmie.

Police identified the man by a driver’s license found near the skeleton, and are awaiting confirmation from medical examiners, Snoqualmie police spokeswoman Rebecca Munson said. Police have not yet released the man’s name.

Officers reported remembering the man, but said they hadn’t seen him in a few years, Munson said. Her department wasn’t aware of a missing persons report having been filed for him.

Foul play is not suspected in the death, Munson said.
