Girls in Junior Girl Scout Troop 2412 earned the highest award available for their organization, for their work on the Fall City Elementary yearbook.

The girls worked on the book twice a month from October to June, learning camera skills and taking pictures at school events. They used a computer to design pages, copying and cropping the pictures on each page. Scouts also created advertisement posters to hang at school, used e-mails to remind families to purchase books, and sorted the books for each classroom.

“I enjoyed being creative when designing the posters and the yearbook pages,” said scout Audrey Miller.

Girls’ efforts brought them the Bronze Award, the highest honor awarded to Junior Girl Scouts. Each girl must earn two badges related to their project — for the yearbooks, they earned Computer Fun and Camera Shots — complete leadership project sand spend 15 hours on the task.
