Former Valley firefighter plans to retire May 31

Ron Gotts, a lieutenant with Eastside Fire and Rescue, announced his plan to retire as of May 31.

Ron Gotts, a lieutenant with Eastside Fire and Rescue, announced his plan to retire as of May 31.

Gotts has served EFR for 22 years, joining the department in December of 1985 as a firefighter. He was promoted to lieutenant in January of 1991, and was assigned to the Carnation Fire Station at the inception of the Carnation annexation. Gotts was later assigned to North Bend Station 87 during one of the first consolidations of Eastside Fire and Rescue. Since that time, he has served in the city of Sammamish and in the city of Issaquah, where he is presently working out of the Maple Street Fire Station 72.

“Ron has been an asset to our department and we will miss his professionalism and contributions over the years,” said Chief Lee Soptich.
