Snoqualmie’s annual town hall meeting and root beer float social is back.

This fall, it’s happening twice, and the upcoming bond vote on a new Snoqualmie community center and pool is one of the main topics of discussion.

The city of Snoqualmie will hold two town hall meetings, the first from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Cascade View Elementary School, 34816 S.E. Ridge Street. A second session is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Snoqualmie Middle School, 9200 Railroad Ave. S.E.

At the beginning of each town hall meeting, residents will have time to talk with Mayor Matt Larson, city council members and staff. Voting information and registration forms will be available.

Each meeting will have two presentations. The first will be given by Larson, who will provide a city update, discuss tax assessments, and present the history of the Snoqualmie community center bond proposition. The Snoqualmie Parks and Recreation Department and the YMCA of Greater Seattle will give a presentation of the proposed community center’s features, amenities, operations, and the partnership between the city and the YMCA.

Following the presentations, door prizes will be announced and residents may socialize with their neighbors, city staff, and elected officials.
