North Bend’s got a lot of things to be proud of, says David Cook.

He’s in a good position to know. With nearly a decade of service on the council, and from his “day job” as the principal realtor of Cook Real Estate, with a commanding spot on North Bend Way, Cook is a local fixture. Elected in 2003, Cook was chosen Best Councilman in the 2012 Best of the Valley voting.

What made you decide to run for city council?

In 2003, the city faced many difficult challenges from a water moratorium to a need for increased attention for repair our roads and infrastructure.  I wanted to make a difference in our community and re prioritize those things that the citizens felt were important to accomplish.

What city accomplishments are you most proud of?

There are many things large and small to be proud of.  We have resolved our water rights issue, set sound fiscal policy, made extensive investments into our roads, parks and infrastrusture and are setting the stage for North Bend to have a bright economic future.

What specific goals do you have for this term, and for the time you continue to serve as a councilmember?

My highest priority is to finally resolve the issues that constrain our downtown from being a vibrant and successful gathering place for all of us to be proud of.  I hope to leave office making North Bend a better place to live and raise our families.
