Bear flees after Snoqualmie police fire beanbags; Man busted for blasting street lights with a pellet gun

Bear blast: At 1:21 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, police were called to the 8200 block of Railroad Avenue Southeast, Snoqualmie, for a bear report. Police located the bear in an alley between Falls and Park Avenue, and shot bean bags at it. The bear ran. It had a tracking collar, so police notified the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Saturday, Aug. 30

Airgun: At 12:41 p.m., a caller in the 34000 block of Southeast Kinsey Street, Snoqualmie, reported that a man was walking around the area with an air rifle, and was shooting at street lights. Police contacted the subject, a 19-year-old man, and arrested him.

Sunday, Aug. 31

Cache: At 6:47 a.m., police were called to the Mount Si Senior Center in North Bend, where a man was searching the bushes nearby. Police contacted the man, who said he was looking for food and drinks he’d stored in a stump. Police removed him from the area, and warned him not to return.

Star gazing: At 11:26 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious  group of teenagers were standing in Community Park, Snoqualmie. Police contacted the group, who were high school students, looking at the stars. They had no drugs or alcohol.

Monday, Sept. 1

Found: At 7:58 a.m., police found a bicycle and backpack at Centennial Fields Park, Snoqualmie. They located the owner, who was intoxicated and had forgotten where he left the bike. He was happy to be reunited with his belongings.

Thursday, Aug. 28

Car accident: At 5:56 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters along with crews from Eastside Fire & Rescue and Fall City firefighters responded to a car accident on Bendigo Boulevard. One patient had minor injuries, was treated and transported.

Friday, Aug. 29

Rollover crash: At 3:32 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters along with crews from Eastside Fire & Rescue and Snoqualmie Pass firefighters responded to a single-vehicle, rollover accident on I-90 near milepost 39. One patient was extricated and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Alarm: At 4:15 p.m., Snoqualmie and Fall City firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at the Woodlands apartment complex. The alarm was set off by a contractor breaking a sprinkler pipe. They left the building under fire watch.

accident: At 6 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded with Eastside Fire & Rescue for a two-vehicle, low-speed accident on Bendigo Boulevard. One patient was treated for minor injuries.

Saturday, Aug. 30

Car accident: At 4:44 a.m., Snoqualmie EMTs responded with Eastside Fire & Rescue for a two-vehicle accident on I-90 near milepost 29. Two patients were treated and transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Medical calls: Snoqualmie firefighters also responded to nine medical aid calls, bringing the 2014 call number to 783.

Thursday, Aug. 28

False alert: At 6:07 p.m., firefighters responded to a medical alert alarm. Upon arriving at the scene, the alarm was discovered to be false.

Friday, Aug. 29

Car accident: At 12:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident. Three patient were given exam and then went to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah via private auto.

Cut head: At 2:44 p.m., firefighters responded to a 14-year-old boy with a head laceration. He was treated and transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Alarm: At 7:47 p.m., firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm. The alarm was discovered to be an accidental activation.

Another alarm: At 10:45 p.m., firefighters responded to another automatic fire alarm. It was also an accident.

Saturday, Aug. 30

Alarm: At 1:19 p.m., firefighters responded to an automatic residential fire alarm. The cause was burned food on the stove. The residence was ventilated.

Injury: At 10:32 p.m., firefighters responded to a 53-year-old man with a dislocated hip. He was treated and transported.

Sunday, Aug. 31

Breathing problem: At 6:16 a.m., firefighters responded to a 92-year-old woman with shortness of breath. She was treated and transported to Eastside Group Health via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Monday, Sept. 1

Dizziness: At 7:28 a.m., firefighters responded to an 87-year-old man who was experiencing dizziness. The patient was given an exam and left in the care of his wife.

Faintness: At 9:12 a.m., firefighters responded to a 66-year-old man who was in a decreased level of consciousness. The patient was also seen by a paramedic unit from Bellevue Fire. The patient was treated and transported to Evergreen Hospital via the medic unit.

Bad burn: At 12:12 p.m., firefighters responded to a burn complaint. The fire was illegal and extinguished.

Gas smell: At 4:08 p.m., firefighters responded to a smell of gas in the area. Nothing was found.

Barbecue smoke: At 5:01 p.m., firefighters responded to a burn complaint. The cause was a barbecue.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

Car accident: At 5:44 a.m., firefighters responded to a single car motor vehicle accident. One patient was treated and transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah via a paramedic unit.
