As ghouls, witches, zombies and Principal Kirk Dunckel in 1970s garb took the gym floor, you’d think it was a night on Elm Street at Chief Kanim Middle School.
One by one, transformed teachers filtered in front of bleachers full of Chief Kanim students to perform Michael Jackson’s song “Thriller.”
As eerie upbeat music came over the speaker system, zombified Chief Kanim staff began to move and groove in sync, depicting Jackson’s “dead start to walk in their masquerade.”
With students clapping and cheering to the unexpected dance skills of their educators, it was a successful performance to kick-off their Halloween weekend of “thriller” nights.
