The 70th annual Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering runs from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31 at the Enumclaw Expo Center.
Presented by the non-profit Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association, the event is the sixth oldest Highland Games in North America.
Events include the North American Scottish Athletics Championship, the U.S. West Coast Drum Corps Championship, individual piping and drumming, highland and national dancing.
Also scheduled are caber tossing, Celtic harpists, a variety of traditional Scottish foods and drinks, as well as Scottish folk artists.
Stroll through the Avenue of the Clans, the Glen of the Clans and our Walk Through Time and delve into your Scottish ancestry and heritage. Visit the Scottish farm with shaggy Scotch Highland cattle black faced sheep.
Saturday events include a welcoming ceremony, with a massing of pipes and drums and parade of clans starting at 12:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m., the Ceilidh, a traditional Scottish party with music, sing-along, stories and Scottish country dancing.
Sunday’s events include a 9 a.m. church service, bagpipe competition, a massing of pipes and drums and parade of clans at 12:30 p.m. and closing ceremony at 5 p.m.
The Highland Games will be the grand finale to Washington State Scottish Week, as proclaimed by Governor Inslee.
