As a newspaper advertising executive, Theresa McBride sees herself as a partner with Valley businesses.

Her mission is to help small businesses succeed by getting consumers through their doors.

“I help businesses help their customers,” she said.

Working with her clients to devise successful advertising campaigns and build market share is McBride’s favorite part of the job.

“It’s all about listening to advertisers and finding out what they need and want,” she said.

McBride’s approach to advertising is built on about 10 years of results-proven experience in the newspaper industry. Before that she worked in a wide variety of retail jobs, including owning two successful businesses.

She grew up in Selah, Wash., outside Yakima, and still prefers small towns and their close-knit feeling to big towns.

Most of her family still lives in the Yakima Valley except her two sons and their families who live in Arizona. She is very excited with her new granddaughter, who she hopes to visit a lot. When Theresa isn’t working she likes to golf, country dancing, rodeos, concerts, playing Bunko and being with family and friends.

She loves working with clients to help design ads that “jump off the page.” She recommends to her client that they vary their ads at least slightly every three or four months to keep them fresh.

The Snoqualime Valley has welcomed McBride with open arms since she joined the Valley Record in May she said.
