Church events focus on refugee issues

Cascade Covenant Church is planning two events to to raise community awareness about refugees. At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, the church will present a free screening of “The Good Lie,” a film about four Sudanese refugees and their journey to America, at the North Bend Theater.

The church will collect refugee care packages at the movie, as well as at the church on Sunday, Jan. 31. Information from aid organizations engaging in the refugee conversation will be available at both events.
