Only one more workshop is being held for Solarize Snoqualmie. Sign up now to attend the final event, 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Snoqualmie City Hall. Already, 45 households have signed up. To register, visit solarizewa.org.

“It’s really the last chance for people to participate in the program,” said Nicole Sanders, Associate Planner at the City of Snoqualmie.

Solarize Snoqualmie is a group purchase or “bulk buy” program designed to achieve affordable solar panel installations on homes and businesses. Workshops review average solar array sizes and costs, installation requirements on the Ridge and Downtown, and allow attendees to meet the installer, ask questions and to schedule a site assessment.

Members from 133 households have attended the workshops. Currently, 35 homes are scheduled for solar assessments, 38 homes are considering proposals, and 14 new solar systems are contracted for installation.

Solarize Snoqualmie is co-sponsored by the Washington State Department of Commerce, city of Snoqualmie, Puget Sound Energy, partnered by Northwest SEED, and powered by citizen collaboration.
