Artist, musician and author Jerry Mader will discuss “Models of the World and the Dynamics of Change” at a potluck-with-purpose Saturday, April 14, at the Tolt Congregational Church, 4851 Tolt Avenue, Carnation.

Mader’s presentation offers an overview of how individuals and societies construct the perceptual models of the world which drive their personal and group behaviors. It then explores the basic psychological elements of individual and societal change and the diffusion of innovations historically. Finally, there will be a question-and-answer session to explore specifics, generate possible new approaches to current issues and explore further development of models for change.

Participants are asked to bring a dish to share for the evening. The presentation will be 45 minutes to an hour long.

Mader has been a professional artist working as a classical musician/composer, writer, and photographer since 1967. He established his own publishing company, Tolt River Press, in 2007 which has published two of his history books, “Carnation Verbatim—A Snoqualmie Valley Memoir”, in 2008 and “Saving the Soil—The New American Farmer”, 2012. His other published work includes “The Road to Lame Deer,” University of Nebraska Press, 2001.
