The Riverview School District has chosen Roxanne Luchini to be the new Cherry Valley Elementary Principal.

Luchini has extensive experience as a leader and teacher. She earned her degree in elementary education and early Childhood education from Central Washington University and has worked in Riverview as a teacher for the past nine years. In 2010, she earned her master’s degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Subsequently, she completed her principal certification from Central Washington University.

Luchini is excited to move into a principalship in Riverview. She has worked on a variety of curriculum adoption committees and has served as a leader at Cherry Valley. Additionally, she has devoted time to working to improve the school’s safety plan and helped the school grow in curricular areas with an emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

“I am so excited to continue our work together at Cherry Valley as the principal and making our school a model of excellence,” she said.

Riverview School District Superintendent, Anthony Smith, stated, “Mrs. Luchini emerged as the number one candidate during a very thorough and competitive interview process. She has demonstrated a track record of hard work, expertise, and a relentless commitment to the best education for each student.”

She will be taking over for Heather Sánchez, who is leaving Cherry Valley to become Director of Accelerated Programs, Choice, and Innovation in the Lake Washington School District.
