SNOQUALMIE – Residents of Snoqualmie have done their part to give the Snoqualmie Department of Public Safety-Fire Division a long-awaited, new fire station.
A $3.628 million bond levy for the construction of a new station on Snoqualmie Parkway passed in the Tuesday, Sept. 17, primary election.
“We’re ecstatic,” said Snoqualmie Department of Public Safety-Fire Division Deputy Chief Bob Rowe. “We can’t wait to build our new fire station.”
The levy scored a decisive victory, with 70.18 percent of the votes affirming it, as of Tuesday, Sept. 23. That was well ahead of the 60 percent supermajority needed for it to pass.
Mayor Fuzzy Fletcher said the new fire facility will be a welcome addition to the city’s public safety services.
“I’m extraordinarily happy,” he said. “It will make the city a safer place.”
