They’ll be coming down the mountain

SNOQUALMIE VALLEY – The idea of getting on a unicycle in the first place is enough to give most people a sense of their own mortality.

But getting on one that is about to head down a mountain is something only the world’s most adamant unicyclists would do.

Those unicyclists just happened to be in the Valley last week and accepted the challenge, racing each other down a mountain usually reserved for a difficult ski or snowboard run.

The downhill unicycle race on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Summit at Snoqualmie, was the final event in the International Unicycling Convention and World Championships (UNICON) that was wrapped up later that day. The UNICON came on the heels of the North American Unicycling Championships and Convention (NAUCC), that took place here from July 19-23.
