JV takes on Liberty

In a preseason practice match, the Mount Si JV tennis team took on Liberty last week. Though the team did not win the match, there were several notable performances. Mitch Hubner had a great comeback match. Down 2-7, he came back to win 8-6 in a tie-breaker. Caleb Williams and Mike Torget dominated their doubles match 8-2.


Wildcats pull out three wins

The Mount Si boys’ varsity tennis team had their second match of the season last week against Liberty, which produced three wins. In singles play, Bryce Wilson lost his first set 5-7, but came back strong to win the next two 6-4 and 6-2. Steven Salmon won his match in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-2. In doubles-team play, Ryan Schwab and Salmon defeated their opponents in straight sets, 6-0 and 7-5.



Wildcats boast top runners

In their first league meet of the season against two tough teams, Liberty and Mercer Island, the Wildcats boasted several outstanding performances. Leading the list was Alex Rudd who took first for the Wildcats with Katie Hogan taking second out of a total of 66 runners. Owen Strom and Max McDevitt also finished strong.


Harrelson leads boys’ golf in win

Mount Si scored a victory on the links last Friday, Sept. 15, as the Wildcat boys’ golf team outlasted Interlake by one stroke, 195-196, in a match played at Mount Si Golf Course in Snoqualmie.

Mount Si’s Bradley Harrelson fired a 1-under-par 35 to grab medalist honors for the event. Harrelson’s effort was complimented by round of 39 each from Luke Dietsch and Tanner Ostby. Peter Wilson shot a round of 36 to lead the Saints and Stephen Coyle fired a score of 37 to pace Interlake.
