Residents raise stink over bathroom

SNOQUALMIE – The city of Snoqualmie will be building a bathroom despite protests from residents that it will be an unsightly and unsafe addition to their neighborhood and that they were not made aware of it until it was too late.

The City Council voted 3-2 on Oct. 30 to continue construction of the bathroom at Azalea Park, located on the corner of Douglas Avenue and Azalea Way on Snoqualmie Ridge.

The vote was taken at a special meeting that was set up after residents from the park’s surrounding neighborhood attended the regular council meeting on Oct. 27 to protest the building of the facility. Residents claim they were unaware the bathroom was being built until they saw a fence go up around the construction site and saw plumbing exposed.
