The Mount Si golf team opened their 1999 season with one in the

win column on Sept. 9, defeating Mercer Island 191-195.

The young Wildcat team was led by co-medalist Sean Fallows with

a one over par 37. Junior Aaron Svarthumle and sophomores

Sean Armstrong and Derek Lee all shot 38s. Closing out the varsity win

were sophomore Eric Larson, with a 40, and freshman Brett Fallows with a 42.

In JV action, Adam Vandebrake and David LaBelle cruised by the

Islanders with scores of 39 each. Brandon Proudfoot followed with a 41

and J. Michael Johnson finished with a 43.

The Wildcat golfers hosted Issaquah at the Snoqualmie

Falls course Monday. Their next match is today, Sept. 16, at 3:30 p.m.,

when they take on the Newport golf team at the Mount Si Golf Course.

Red Wolves fall to Indians

Cedarcrest’s golf team hosted their opposite numbers from Issaquah

High School on Sept. 9, but fell short in the KingCo 3A golf opener, by a score

of 210-203.

On the plus side, Red Wolves’ senior Sean Beveridge earned

medalist honors, shooting a 2-under 33. His round included an eagle on the par

5 first hole and two birdies.

Following Beveridge were fellow senior Marc Medley with a 43,

juniors Pat Beveridge and Jason Kamada, who shot a 44 and 45 respectively,

and sophomore Bill Fifer, 45.

The Cedarcrest linksters played Liberty last Monday. Their next

match is today, Sept. 16, at 3:30 p.m., for an away contest with Interlake

High School at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club.
