Students at Fall City Elementary look at a finished piece of Raku pottery on Friday, Oct. 25, at the school. The pottery demonstration was part of a day filled with events to help students learn about Japanese culture that included music and storytelling and a performance by the Seattle Kokon Taiko Drummers. The Japanese festival was sponsored by the Fall City Arts Council. Raku pottery is removed from the kiln after being heated to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit.
