Snoqualmie parks director resigns

SNOQUALMIE – For more than a decade Jeff Mumma has had a hand in every shrub, tree and pile of dirt moved in every park in Snoqualmie.

As a volunteer on the Snoqualmie City Planning and Parks committee, and most recently as head of Snoqualmie’s Parks and Recreation Department, Mumma guided the city through park planning and development during the most extraordinary growth spurt in Snoqualmie’s history.

He will be taking the experience with him when he starts a new job at Central Washington University (CWU) in Ellensburg after the first of the year.

“The outcome has been great,” he said after reflecting on his time in Snoqualmie. “I don’t think we would do anything different.”

Mumma first became involved in the city’s parks in 1991, when he volunteered to serve on the Planning and Parks Committee. Mumma, who was an emergency medical technician (EMT) at the time, also volunteered for the city’s fire department along with his wife, Amy.
