Board deals Salish annexation setback

SNOQUALMIE – The city of Snoqualmie is getting ready to take legal action in the effort to annex land for a proposed Salish Lodge & Spa expansion project.

At its Monday, Oct. 14, meeting, the Snoqualmie City Council unanimously approved giving City Attorney Pat Anderson permission to file an expected lawsuit against the Washington State Boundary Review Board for King County.

The vote was a response to a letter from an attorney representing the Boundary Review Board that said the board would not allow Snoqualmie to annex land in its urban growth area.

The Salish has been looking to expand its facility on the northwest border of Snoqualmie since 1996. The most recent expansion plan included a 250-room, 240,000-square-foot hotel with a conference center, restaurant, lounge and fitness center.
