P>The 30-unit Pickering Court townhouse/apartment complex under construction in the Maple Park
neighborhood near downtown Snoqualmie is scheduled to
be completed by the end of November.
That information came from Du Jardin
Construction of Everett, the general contractor. The November date
is earlier than previously planned.
Pickering Court is designed to provide
reasonably priced apartments in the Valley. Sixteen families
from the Snoqualmie, Fall City and North Bend areas
have already applied to the King County Housing
Authority and have qualified for occupancy.
The townhouse/apartments are available to
families of the following sizes and income levels: One person,
a maximum net income of $9,500 per year; two,
$10,650; three, $12,000; four, 13,300; five, $14,400; six,
$15,000, seven, $15,800; and eight, $16,650.
Single persons interested in renting a
one-bedroom unit must be over age 62 or handicapped or
disabled. Total assets shall not exceed $4,000 for each family.
Elderly couples may have assets up to $15,000.
Pets, except fish and birds, will not be allowed.
If you qualify and are interested in renting a
one-, two- or three-bedroom apartment, contact Pat
Kelly, King County Housing Authority, Housing
Management Division, at 224-7750, to have your name placed on
the interested list. Rents will be approximately 25
percent of net income or less.
The project is valued at more than $1 million
and will have a laundry, recreation building, children’s
play area and will be landscaped. The City of
Snoqualmie has required that the developer install a new
12-inch water line to the site, which will increase water
flow capacity throughout the neighborhood.
The Planning Commission required that the existing gravel road, Fir Street, be paved and that
Pickering Court right-of-way be opened up and constructed
by the developer to improve fire truck access and
circulation.
