Turner garners honors

Stephanie Turner of Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) and a Mount Si graduate, has been named the volleyball Player of the Week in the Northwest Conference for the week of Sept. 20-26.

Turner, a junior from Snoqualmie, led the Lutes to two victories last week with 29 kills, four service aces and six digs. By defeating Puget Sound and Linfield, the Lutes moved into a first-place tie in the conference with a 3-1 mark. PLU is 4-6 overall.

Hole-in-ones

Two players recently made the rare hole-in-one at Mount Si Golf Course. James Phelps nailed his ace on the eighth hole at a distance of 155 yards using a five iron. Don Schlaegel sank his on the fourth hole at a distance of 116 yards using a pitching wedge.
