Walk to help schools: Student ‘Walkathons’ are this week, next at Valley elementaries

Walkathon season is well under way at Snoqualmie Valley Schools.
Fall City Elementary is expecting more than 600 students and staff running and walking together on Thursday, Oct. 4, in this 12th annual PTSA fundraiser. The group has set a goal of $52,000 for the event, to help fund student enrichment programs at the school, such as Reading Buddies, Sci-Art, the science fair, classroom mini-grants, IXL online math, music and Library support, field trips, student scholarship grants, and the fifth grade Seabeck outdoor program.
All donations are tax-deductible. Checks, marked PTSA Walkathon can be mailed to the school at PTSA Walkathon, Fall City Elementary School, 3314 SE 42nd Street, Fall City, WA 98024.
Cascade View Elementary has also set its walkathon for Thursday, Oct. 4. For more information, visit http://www.cvesptsa.org.
