Published 9:42 am Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Learn the basics of heart health and how to take steps to prevent heart disease at a Health Awareness Day, 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation.

Speaker Carly Meiser from Hope Heart Institute will discuss signs, symptoms and prevention of heart attacks, and briefly discuss stroke detection. Admission is free.

The same day, the center hosts a Relay-for-Life Art Project and Fundraiser, 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 14.

The team is accepting small donations, between $1-$10, to make a memory luminaria for a particular person or pet who has been touched by cancer.

Decorated bags will be lit from within and placed around the track at the evening relay in Centennial Park, Snoqualmie.
