Austin Jenckes will present a surprise “SummerStage Encore” concert starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Riverview School District office, 15510 First Ave. N.E., Duvall.
Jenckes, who is competing on NBC’s “The Voice” this season, is a singer-songwriter and frequent performer at Duvall’s summer concert series. He will perform a free concert on his last night in town. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted for the St. Vincent de Paul food bank in Duvall. Community members can also sign a banner with good wishes for Jenckes; the banner will be set up at Duvall’s City Hall, 15535 Main Street.
A 2006 graduate of Cedarcrest High School, Jenckes grew up in North Bend and Duvall, and moved last year to Nashville to pursue a music career. He returned to Duvall this summer for another SummerStage concert, and debuted on “The Voice” on Sept. 24. Two coaches, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton chose him for their teams, and Jenckes chose three-time winning coach Shelton.
After this week’s “battle” rounds, Jenckes moved on to the next round of competition.
“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
